The new Nitecore P40 is an LEP laser flashlight with 2000 lumens of light output and a maximum beam distance of 2900 meters. What is LEP? An LEP (Laser Excited Phosphor) flashlight is a flashlight that uses a focused blue laser beam to excite a phosphor layer, which then emits white light. This light can then be focused through a lens to create a very narrow, focused, long-range beam.
The Nitecore P40 has three lighting modes: spotlight, floodlight, and mixed mode (default setting). The P40 is turned on with the rear switch, while the two front switches control the brightness levels. An innovative feature is the Adaptive Cruise Mode. In this mode, the brightness automatically changes depending on the angle of the light.
