The SEARCH mode is impressive with 3000 lumens and a range of up to 400 meters. The Lumin Shield TM function switches on the 8 external LEDs and provides a 6500 lumen floodlight.
The tail switch is designed as a two-stage switch. The EDC29 is switched on and off by fully pressing the tail switch pressing it halfway changes the light level.
Lumin Shield TM and SEARCH are designed as momentary light and cannot be switched on permanently. An optical sensor detects obstacles in front of the lens and reduces the light intensity to prevent damage.
The Nitecore EDC29 can be protected from being accidentally switched on using the Rapid-Lock switch. What is particularly striking about the EDC29 is its optics. These are modeled on tactical equipment and ensure a firm grip.
The OLED display provides useful information about the status of the lamp, such as the selected light level, remaining battery life, etc. The integrated Li-Ion battery with 2500mAh is charged via a USB-C charging port.
