The Balisong has a 116 mm long blade with a Scimitar profile, referring to the classic design of butterfly knives, made of premium CPM-S30V steel.
The blade is covered with a black DLC Battlewash (Diamond Like Carbon) protective coating. This wear-resistant carbon coating increases the external hardness of the steel and additionally protects the CPM-S30V blade against corrosion, wear and scratches. A matte blade is easier to clean and does not reflect light.
CPM-S30V powder steel from Crucible Industries is hardened to an optimal hardness of 58-60 HRC, which is why it maintains high sharpness for a long time, has high mechanical strength and is also resistant to corrosion.
Thanks to the high content of vanadium carbides, the steel is characterized by high impact strength and abrasion resistance, as well as excellent cutting properties.
When choosing a knife made of hard steel, you should buy a diamond sharpener, because sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very time-consuming and ineffective.
