All Old Bear models feature the same locking mechanism invented in the 1980s by Arduino Todesco from Maniago. The lock consists of a fixed ring around the top of the handle with a rotating plate that blocks the blade in both the open and closed positions.

This Old Bear utility and mushroom-picking knife features a walnut-wood handle, a reinforced horsehair brush with a brass collar, and a stainless steel hawk-bill blade.

Crafted with care, designed with the planet in mind: Old Bear® handles are crafted from responsibly sourced wood (FSC certified). The packaging is made from innovative recycled paper and Green PE bags.

Safety guaranteed with every cut: The blade is made from Aperam’s Nitrogen W 1.4060 MA5 steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance, high hardness, and edge retention.
